We started out as Sam’s Boat on the side of the road selling ice cold beer “the right way”, world famous spicy crawfish, crab balls and po-boys back in 1981. In 1992, we acquired Sam’s Place next door in effort to cater to a broader clientele bringing great south of the border cuisine to our guests. Several years later, we connected the two restaurants with a huge outdoor deck and became known as the best place for live music and the “true” Sams Boat experience was born.

We have evolved over the years, opened restaurants along the way and we have had to close a few as well but we finally figured out what really worked for our brand over the last 5 years and we are now known as Sam’s Boat Gulf Coast Kitchen + Sports Bar.

We have become a part of people’s lives and every time we re-energize the brand and reinvent ourselves, our guests are appreciative and we attract to new visitors who become loyal patrons to Sam’s.

It is the magic of the brand, why we have had a long history of success and it is the reason we are now introducing our concept for franchising to people with experience in the restaurant industry throughout the southeastern United States.

Our six Sam’s Boat locations have become the place to be for great food, outstanding service and excellence in sports entertainment. We are also known for great people watching, excellent live music and a fun place to meet new friends while hanging out on our outdoor decks. We are one of the longest running restaurants and bars in Houston, the “original” Sam’s Boat opened its doors in 1981 and we are still the place to be after all these years.
